Hanoi in the hottest day

VietNamNet Bridge – The temperature in many provinces in northern Vietnam on July 7 was highest so far this year, averaging from 38 to 39 degree Celsius.

In Hanoi, the temperature at 7am was measured at 30 degree Celsius, 34 degree Celsius at 10am, 38 degree Celsius at 1pm and 39 degree Celsius at 4pm. This is the highest so far this year. However, it is much lower than last summer. Hanoi’s temperature hit 41 degree Celsius in summer 2010.

A weather forecaster said that the above temperatures were measured inside meteorological tents; around 2 meters from the ground, with grass cover so they were 2-3 degree Celsius lower than the outdoor temperature, which might reach over 40 degree Celsius.

The weather was also very hot in other northern provinces: 38 degree Celsius in Ninh Binh, 37 degree Celsius in Ha Nam and Thai Binh, 36 degree Celsius in Hai Phong and 36 degree Celsius in Phu Tho.

The highest temperature was measured in the central region: 39 degree Celsius in Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.

Starting from July 3, this is the third scorching spell in the northern region and northern part of the central region so far this year. It was different from the two previous heat spells when the temperature was both high during the day and at night.

In this weather, people always felt uncomfortable while many kids and elder people got sick.
